Top 10 things to do in Seville, Spain

Things to do in Seville Spain

Between the world’s third largest cathedral and what was once the world’s tallest building, Giralda, lies your Oasis Hostel – smack in the cultural and historic heart of Seville. Whether you want to head out to the Alcazar, Casa de Pilatos, Archive of the Indies, or wander through the mass of amazing restaurants, bars, palaces and parks, and top it all of with flamenco and a big night out – at Oasis, you are just minutes walk from everywhere you want to be.

Restaurants

Tapas aren’t everything. Well...not to everyone, anyway. Sure it’s more common to go for tapas, but if you want a well orchestrated, full meal, there are a number of restaurants around the city that would love to accommodate you. Markets, as well, can provide you with fresh ingredients if you prefer to cook for yourself.

10 Things To Do

Seville has over 1.5 million citizens, over 4,000 amazing tapas bars, tons of great flamenco clubs, and an outrageous club scene. On top of all this there are a number of just plain cool places to see and experience. We’ve compiled a list of some of our favourite things to do while in Seville, just to get you going.

Tapas

Going for tapas is the most way common to dine in Seville. With over 4,000 tapas bars in the city, it’s no surprise. Tapas are cheap (between 1.50€ and 4€) and it’s common to see people sharing a ’ración’ (plate) or a ’media ración’ of one dish. While traditional tapas reign supreme, new international influences and vegetarian fusion have become very popular.

Best Bars

Call it an excuse to beat the heat, but Seville specializes in a number of interesting and super refreshing cocktails that just might leave you breathless, and will definitely leave you a bit buzzed.

Flamenco

Flamenco is a huge part of the culture all across southern Spain, and Seville is no exception. While some places can be overrun by tourists (and the prices will reflect that), there are a number of cool authentic locales specializing in hot music, cool drinks, and great food. It’s a great way to get your blood pumping before the night really gets started.

Museums

You’re in Seville, historically and culturally rich. It would be a shame to move on without absorbing some of the fascinating legacy that has made the city such a popular destination for travellers. Soak up some culture at any of the city’s abundant museums and monuments.

Clubs and Nightlife

When people say "Seville sizzles," they’re not just referring to the high summer temperatures. Night Clubs in Seville are some of the best and most eminent, not just in Spain, but all Europe. Start with tapas, then drinks, maybe a botellón session outside with locals, and then stumble upon any one of Seville’s bumping night clubs to party into the morning.

Live Music

Listen up, you might learn something! Seville is proud to be one of the most attractive locations for live music in Andalucía. Passionate locals pour into these venues to catch local up-and-comers jamming and popular bands performing everything from funk, reggae, Spanish music, rock, hip-hop, and jazz.

Daytrips

Outside Seville, you can stumble upon a number of impressive sights and some relaxing reprieves from the hustle and bustle of Seville’s urban areas. Here’s a few suggestions for worthwhile excursions from the city to give you a more well-rounded visit.
